Travel Money cards are issued by a Bank direct to its customer base or in conjunction with a third party distributor (e.g. money exchange bureau, holiday company or airline). These cards can be co-branded by the third party distributor if desired and may be personalised or non-personalised with the cardholder name.
The cardholders can request secondary cards (e.g. for use by family members). Cardholders will receive a better rate of exchange than by using their own credit or debit card and are less exposed to credit card fraud than when using their own cards. The cardholders can load their cards by paying to a programme float account by bank transfer from their current account or by credit/debit card payment.
